Big Ideas Start Up

Information Surgeries!

If you’re thinking of starting a business, there’s no better time than now to find support! There’s a wealth of accessible information and help for the amazing entrepreneurs, new businesses and people with great ideas out there. But where do you start?
The Big Ideas Generators team (B.I.G) are running free 1-1’s business information “surgeries” across Greater Manchester libraries to help you identify the next steps in your business journey.

You can book a 30 minute appointment to talk to one of the team in confidence. Discuss your idea and find out about the range of information resources available through GM libraries and the Business & IP Centre in Manchester Central Library, as well as the workshops and networking opportunities.

“The 1/2 hr appointment format is great because it allows us to really tailor our help to each person individually. People are often surprised with the amount of information, support & workshops available covering the many aspects of setting up a new business”. Ian Hargreaves, BIG Team

The B.I.G team have had the pleasure of meeting over 75 people for 1-1’s since June and have met a range of very interesting and determined entrepreneurs.

“Doing the 1-1s gives me an opportunity to see the entrepreneurial & creative spirit of the people of Greater Manchester. However, people often don’t know where to start when it comes to actually putting their ideas into practice. We point them in the right direction”. Andrew Bailey, BIG Team

We’ve had some very positive feedback from customers too:
“Helped to boost my confidence to take my idea further”.
“Very helpful, friendly service. Really glad I came. I feel like I have more understanding of my next steps”
“Ian was brilliant! I found this one to one support excellent. I am looking forward to accessing the different resources Ian has mentioned”
